# How-To Steps:

01 - Heat a large heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up with a spoon, until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
02 - Add diced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in garlic, red bell pepper, and jalapeño, cooking for an additional 2–3 minutes.
03 - Stir in chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, ground cinnamon, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1 minute until aromatic.
04 - Mix in tomato paste and cook for 1 minute, stirring continuously.
05 - Pour in diced tomatoes with their juice, drained beans, unsweetened cocoa powder, and broth. Stir until fully integrated.
06 - Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cook uncovered for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
07 - Stir in cocoa nibs and continue simmering for 5 more minutes. Adjust seasoning to preference.
08 - Ladle chili into bowls and top with desired garnishes such as fresh cilantro, sour cream, shredded cheddar, or sliced green onions.
