Strawberry Overnight Oats Chia (Print Version)

Creamy oats combined with juicy strawberries, chia seeds, and granola for a wholesome breakfast boost.

# Ingredient List:

→ Oats Base

01 - 1 cup rolled oats
02 - 1 cup milk, dairy or plant-based
03 - 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or plant-based yogurt
04 - 2 tablespoons chia seeds
05 - 1 to 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
06 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Fruit

07 - 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

→ Toppings

08 - 1/2 cup granola
09 - Additional sliced strawberries, optional

# How-To Steps:

01 - In a medium bowl or mason jar, combine rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Mix thoroughly until well combined.
02 - Gently fold the sliced strawberries into the oat mixture.
03 - Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate for at least 8 hours or overnight to allow the oats and chia seeds to absorb the liquid and achieve the desired soft consistency.
04 - In the morning, stir the oats thoroughly. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to reach desired consistency.
05 - Divide the overnight oats between two bowls or jars.
06 - Top each serving with granola and additional fresh strawberries if desired. Serve immediately.

# Helpful Tips:

01 -
  • It sits in your fridge doing all the work while you sleep, so you literally just grab and eat.
  • The strawberries stay juicy and bright instead of turning to mush, which surprised me the first time I made it.
  • One jar feels fancy enough for guests but takes about as much effort as making a sandwich.
02 -
  • If you add the granola the night before, it turns into sad, soggy crumbles by morning—I learned this the hard way and now I'm militant about waiting until the last second.
  • Using really good quality Greek yogurt makes a noticeable difference in how creamy this turns out; the cheap stuff doesn't have the same richness.
03 -
  • The night before you plan to eat them, taste the mixture raw and adjust sweetness then—don't wait until morning when you're groggy and might oversweeten.
  • Chia seeds are expensive, so feel free to use slightly less if you're budget-conscious, though they really do create the best texture when you follow the proportions.
